New Waste Legislation – March 2025

The Simpler Recycling legislation in England will come into effect on March 31, 2025, introducing updated waste collection and separation requirements. This initiative seeks to standardise waste collection processes and significantly reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills.

Companies with 10 or more employees must separate plastic, paper and card, glass, metal, and food waste from the 31st of March 2025. 

Smaller businesses with fewer than 10 employees will have an extended timeline, with compliance required by March 2027.
